The Jungle Book The Movie: Rumble in the Jungle DVD Release

This upcoming DVD to be released on February 12, 2013 will be available exclusively at Walmart. It's the first DVD release from the TV series which airs on Disney XD.  Each limited edition DVD also comes downloadable activity kit, slide show and exclusive, collectible Mowgli and Baloo figurines.

We had a chance to get an early screening of The Jungle Book The Movie: Rumble in the Jungle.  While its not quite the movie that I remember, it has the same fun characters and underlying themes.  It's definitely geared towards a very young audience, ages 2-6 with simple concepts, cute characters and a very catchy theme song.

What did I like about the movie?  The DVD is packed with little life lessons and in my opinion also provides real life management tools.  With some of the crankier characters such as Shere Khan (the totally mean tiger), it brings up real life situation that unfortunately kid's today seem to be facing at school with bullies.  I liked how the movie essentially showed that the "good" always wins.  With the over protective and sensible mentor Baloo, "The Man Cub" Mowgli always has someone to help lead him to always make the right decisions in the end and helps him have a positive attitude. And.. I really like that!

The other theme that I found nice is that the movie shows the value of friendship and teamwork. When Mowgli got himself into his silly misadventures, he always found a friend or a group of friends that would help solve the problem or provide a helping hand.
