For most of my life, I had wanted to visit Florida. Now I live here, crazy how life works. It’s such a huge state with SO much to offer, that it still feels like I’m just visiting. Being from the smallest state, I’m not sure I’ll ever stop being a tourist here and that’s kind of cool. One of the very first places I visited in Florida years ago was Daytona Beach. I really can’t remember why I gathered up my girlfriends and insisted we visit, but it happened… twice.
Since we’ve lived in Florida, I visited twice. It was the first time I got to share this wonderful place with my family. What I love about Daytona Beach is that is just so easy. You could pack your bags right this very minute and go there and you will have the perfect vacation. You can make plans, but you don’t even have to. The beach just happens. Miles of beautiful ocean front to enjoy, boardwalk to explore and food to savor. Get ready for some Warm Holiday Fun.
There’s so much to do right on the boardwalk. Last time we went, we acted like kids and played in the arcades, stayed up way too late and really let loose. It honestly was the best time we’d had as a family in a long time and I can’t wait to go back. As a bonus, there is always something special happening there. Every time I visit there is always an event happening and that’s totally typical, we got to enjoy a food and music festival last time.
This time of the year, you can add amazing sunsets and stargazing to your Daytona Beach bucket list. You’ll enjoy a break from the snow when you visit. Ten points for Daytona Beach! Temperatures are mild and warm and well…perfect.
One of my favorite places to visit while there is Ocean Walk Shoppes. With delicious eats and fun shops as well as a movie theater, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon or evening… or both.
We visited Mai Tai Bar at the Shoppes for a bite to eat while we were there. We scored a perfect table outdoors right in the center of all the action. You can feel the ocean breeze and unwind with some super delicious food and drinks. I am totally recommending their Frizzled Onion Rings and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. So yum after a day strolling the boardwalk.
