SING Movie DIY Snow Globes

Making snow globes is so much easier than you might think. With some goodies you might have on hand along with a few other specialty items, you can bring your favorite SING characters to life. I'm totally smitten with these little handheld snow scenes.

We chose to make the koala Buster Moon (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) and a guy with major piggy power, Gunter (voiced by Nick Kroll).

Here's what you need to make your own SING inspired Snow Globes:

Small Glass Jars
Mini Holiday Foliage (must be plastic and not dyed)
High Quality (10 mil+) Laminated SING Characters. Download file here (pdf) {Includes Gunter & Buster Moon}
Epoxy or other Waterproof Glue that works on Plastic and Metal.
Sandpaper
Heavy Thick Glitter or Tinsel style Glitter (2 TBSP or more per jar)
Glycerin (1 TBSP and 1 TSP per jar)
Water

Optional: Ribbon to add a bow to the bottom of the jar.

Print your SING movie characters and laminate them with at least 10 mil thickness. If you don't have your own laminator, many office supply stores offer this option and it's pretty inexpensive.

Carefully trim around the characters. Then, use Epoxy or Waterproof Glue to seal all around the sides of the characters and let dry.

Use sandpaper on the inside of your jar lid. This will help to adhere the snow globe scene.

Use epoxy or comparable glue to adhere your character and choice of all your embellishments. Make sure to you are gluing to the inside of the jar lid.

Make sure to follow epoxy or glue directions when it comes to drying before the next steps.

I snipped some foliage from an artificial Christmas Tree and could trim them to fit perfectly.

Once your scene has dried completely, it's time to get the party started. Add the glycerin and glitter to your jar first and then add water leaving a little room at the top to compensate for the character and other embellishments. You can always add a little more if needed, so test it out.

Once you're done, you can opt to use epoxy or glue to secure the lid back on. But, I preferred not to because it's helpful to make any fixes later if you need to. That's really it, your cute little snow globes are good to go. Have fun swirling and spinning that cute glittery snow around.

For an extra touch, you can use hot glue to make and adhere a festive bow around the lid. I think this adds a pretty touch.
