How To Get The Spiky Messy Look

I was lucky enough to convince my son to share how he gets his sporty spiky messy look. Get The Spiky Messy Look for Men

While my son is not a hair dresser, he certainly has a lot of experience with this look. He’s been styling his hair like this for about a year now. I thought it would be fun to let him share his process step by step. Ready?

First, you’ll want to start with clean hair.  Dove Men+Care Oxygen Charge Shampoo has an invigorating scent and it’s charged with caffeine too. Plus, the formula was made to help make hair 3 times stronger and remove stubborn residue and oiliness. All important if you want to have rock this look.

My son recommends letting your  hair air dry if you can. He feels that it adds extra texture. When he uses a blow dryer, he finds that his hair doesn’t flow as nicely for this style.

Next, take generous amount of Dove Men+Care Styling Paste on your fingers. He say’s, don’t be afraid to get em’ dirty. Rub the product into the entire top portion of your hair and then spike the front half of your hair up with fingers. Work the product in until it’s blended in completely.

Brush and style time! Starting from the top back of your head, brush the hair forward.  In the center of the top of your hair, angle your hair forward and tilt slightly upward to support the hair in front  For the very front of your hair, use a brush with bristles to tousle. To do this, he takes the brush and grabs some of his hair with it and gently pulls it upwards motion. He repeats this process for about five minutes until he gets an even full look.

Tip: If the product is drying quickly while you are styling, just wet your hands and blend into your hair. It will loosen product up so you can keep working with it until you achieve that perfect messy look.

For the final touches, use a small amount of product  to smooth down the rest of your hair. Voila! That’s it, you’re now ready for game day and anything else that might come your way!
