Are there baked goods that you look forward to every year? Recipes that you find yourself making over and over again? All of these delicious goods are a huge part of memory making. That's why I wanted to share a recipe for Christmas-inspired Magic Cookie Bars. I remember these being such a huge hit at holiday parties when I was growing up. I even remember the first time that I tried them. They are like a bite of heaven.

So many deliciously sweet ingredients to love. I've added a little twist this year by adding some crushed peppermint candy and marshmallows. If you've never had these bars, the secret ingredient that makes them super magical is most definitely Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk. Let me show you how to make them!

Here is what you need to make these layered cookie bars.

  • Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Country Crock Spread
  • Crushed Graham Crackers
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Flaked Coconut
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Crushed Peppermint
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray
  • Holiday Sprinkles

To get started, spray your baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Then, move on to making the tasty cookie base with crushed graham crackers and melted Country Crock.

Then, press the mixture into the bottom of the baking pan. Next, pour the Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk evenly over the top.

Next, evenly add the remaining ingredients on top except for the sprinkles.

Christmas Magic Cookie Bars

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2.5 Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • ¾ Cup Country Crock or Butter Melted
  • 1 Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz)
  • 1 Bag of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz
  • 1 ⅓ Cups Flaked Coconut
  • ¼ Cup Crushed Peppermint
  • ½ Cup Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 TSBP Holiday Sprinkles
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 350 F.
  2. Spray 13x9 pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted Country crock until combined.
  4. Press mixture into the bottom of the baking dish to cover completely.
  5. Pour Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk evenly over the mixture.
  6. Layer on the rest of the ingredients (reserving sprinkles for later).
  7. Bake 25-27 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and place on cooling rack.
  9. Add sprinkles evenly over the top.
  10. Cool completely and cut into bars for serving.

Magic Cookie Bars are my favorite. I love the idea of adding crushed peppermint and sprinkles to make them more festive.

Why Country Crock not butter? I tend to avoid margarine if I can.
