No Bake Peppermint Pretzel Bars Recipe

Can't believe how fast the time has gone. Another year almost under the belt at record speed. Time to deck the halls already and best of all, create scrumptious festive treats. Adding a little bit of peppermint is the perfect way to bring an average treat up to holiday status in my opinion. So I've done just that with these no bake bars. Now, adding pretzels and peppermint together seemed a little risky given the salt vs. mint flavors. I was really impressed with how great the flavors came together and created a festive twist!

My son went pure bananas (or maybe I should say peppermint) over these. He normally loves the combination of mint and chocolate which I have to say I typically don't. I'm more of a chocolate and caramel kind of person... which sounds like another recipe waiting to happen. Yum.

With only 4 ingredients and super simple preparation, these are great to whip up when your schedule just doesn't allow for elaborate baking.

No Bake Peppermint Pretzel Bars Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz)
  • ½ Cup of Crushed Peppermint Hard Candy or Candy Cane
  • 5 Cups of Small Pretzels. (Crush after measuring)
  • Optional: Set aside 9 small pretzels and ¼ cup of the crushed peppermint candy.
  • Non Stick Spray

Instructions

  1. Spray an 8 x 8 pan with non-stick spray. Melt the chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk on stove top or in microwave. Remove from heat, then add crushed pretzels and ¼ cup of crushed peppermint and make sure to fully cover the dry ingredients in chocolate mixture. Spoon mixture into pan. Press the batter down evenly with a spoon or spatula. Optionally top with whole pretzels and peppermint for decor. Let cool for 1 hour or more. Faster if refrigerated. Enjoy!
