BREAD BAKED IN A BUNDT PAN

This easy bread recipe is SO perfect for party sandwiches. The key ingredient? None other than two cans of Pillsbury French Bread pinched together, placed in a non-stick spray fluted bundt plan.

To make it extra special, you can roll the dough in sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning first.

You will have a gorgeous loaf of sandwich bread perfect for loading up with toppings.

Later, we'll turn this big bread loaf into a slider by brushing on melted butter mixed with Italian seasonings and then covering with foil and putting the party sliders in the oven to melt.

WHAT IS A BUNDTWICH?

A bundtwich is a kind of sandwich created by Pillsbury with their refrigerated French bread. The easy idea is to place two rolls of their dough in half circles in a fluted bundt pan and bake it. Then slice the loaf in half for an amazing sandwich bread that everyone will love. Fill with your favorite toppings for an epic BIG sandwich that makes for the best party sandwiches ideas for adults and kids alike.

The original recipes show the bottom half of the loaf "scooped out" to create a "cradle" for the sandwich toppings, but I chose to leave mine as-is.

One for your party and one for you to sample as you bake and prepare it. 😉

Brushing butter mixed with Italian Seasonings onto the top of the bundt bread is a step you don't want to miss.

Then, wrap the entire sandwich in foil and bake until the cheese is nice and melted.

Additional Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 3 minutes

Ham and Swiss Party Sandwiches made with easy bundt pan bread and topped with honey mustard mayo and melted to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cans Pillsbury refrigerated French bread, 11 oz
  • 4 TBSP Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Pkg Thin Sliced Ham, 9 oz
  • 1 Pkg Swiss Cheese, 11 Slices
  • 8 Slices Large Tomato
  • 6 TBSP Melted Butter, Divided
  • 2 TSP Italian Seasoning
  • ¼ Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ TBSP Honey Mustard
  • Non-Stick Baking Spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray non-stick spray to cover inside of Bundt Pan.
  3. Sprinkle Sesame Seeds into large shallow dish or cutting board.
  4. Remove dough from cans.
  5. Roll each over sesame seeds to cover, making sure not to get any on the sides. Be sure not to flatten the dough, we went to keep it in the shape that it comes straight from the can.
  6. Place the rolls in the bundt pan to make a circle. Pinch the ends together on each side.
  7. Bake for 33-38 minutes until the top of the bread is a toasty brown color.
  8. Meanwhile, prepare the honey mustard mayo by mixing the honey mustard and mayonnaise together and set aside.
  9. Remove the baked bread from oven and let cool for 10 minutes and then carefully remove from pan and let cool on a cooking rack. {Keep the oven on for later.}
  10. Make sure the decorative side of the bread is on top and carefully cut the bread in half lengthwise.
  11. Spread the honey mustard mayo on the bottom half of the bread.
  12. Add layer of tomato slices, follow with ham slices and finish with cheese slices.
  13. Mix Italian Seasoning with 4 TBSP Melted Butter and brush on top of the bundt bread.
  14. Cover by making a Foil Tent and add back to the oven for 20 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.
  15. Brush remaining 2 TBSP of butter over the top of the sandwich.
  16. Let cool for a few minutes, cut into 6-8 slices and serve.

I love this idea. One question: I'm not sure I'm following this direction, "Roll each over sesame seeds to cover, making sure not to get any on the sides. " Making sure not to get any on the sides.....? Does this mean the "sides" where the two ends of the rolls will be joined?
