Brown Sugar Banana Ice Pops Recipe
We finally had a couple of sunny days here last weekend, which has me pretty excited with the hope of some warmth around here. While I was daydreaming about delightful warm days, I thought about homemade freezer pops. Yum. You see, I'm working with Dairy Pure to share about their super new "Worry-Free Flip Cap", they sent me some to try as well as other fun promotional items. We go through milk like crazy around here, so I was happy to check out this neat new feature. Regardless, all milk-pinions (opinions) are my own.
While I was at it, I decided to make a creamy ice pop using the milk. Maybe making frozen treats will summon the sun? If it only worked that way... On the bright side, these definitely helped bring a little much needed brightness on this otherwise rainy and dreary day. I really wanted to try something that I'd just never had before. Bananas and brown sugar are normally a fantastic combo, so why not? Pair it with some Dairy Pure milk and a bit of vanilla yogurt and it's quite yummy. I threw in a little cinnamon to make the flavors pop. I had no idea if these would be good or if my son would like them, but it definitely worked out and I'd totally make these again. You could even throw in some oats for a nice breakfast treat! Darn, I need to make those now too!
Not sure if it was a conscious decision, but I generally purchase Dairy Pure milk regularly. I can actually pat myself on the back for my zombie-esque purchases, because I just learned about their Purity 5 Point Checklist. Their farmers pledge to use NO artificial growth hormones, they test for antibiotics, they test for quality and much more.

What is your favorite thing to serve or make with milk?
Thanks for the prize!
Omit the unhealthy additions and you actually have a healthy ice pop.
All you need are the bananas (organic)! If you want some protein, add a spoonful of peanut or almond butter. Cow's milk is not healthy and adds a ton of fat (hormones, antibiotics, pathogens, pesticides, etc). Bananas are sweet on their own, no need to add sugar.
Slice a few bananas, freeze for 2-3 hours on a cookie tray, put in a food processor, put back in freezer (plastic container) until ready to scoop out as ice cream or pour into molds and then freeze again.
Enjoy this ice cold sweet treat without the crap!
