Fold your salami and add next to the Monterey Jack cheese. Finally, add the mozzarella balls to finish up the candy cane shape.
Add small sprigs of rosemary as a festive garnish throughout.
Notes
This candy cane board is best made right before it will be served to help keep the various cheeses from drying out and the mozzarella from creating puddles on the board.
The charcuterie board can be left out at room temperature for up to two hours. After that it is best to package up and refrigerate any leftovers.
Leftovers are best stored in an airtight container for up to five days. Mozzarella balls are best placed back in their original container with the liquid they came in.
The exact quantities of ingredients may vary based on the side of the board used.
These ingredients can be placed in any order you like, just alternate between white ingredients and red ingredients to create a candy cane effect.
Use a toothpick to secure the folded pieces of salami if you like.
Some alternative white ingredients include; crackers, sliced baguette, feta cheese, baby bell cheese, mini brie cheese, nuts such as macadamia or blanched almonds, white chocolate.
Some alternative red ingredients include; cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, strawberries, sweet cherry peppers, red candies.
