Pound Cake Fries
With all of the tempting treats that I'm always seeing around the web, I found myself dreaming up something unusual. Between Pinterest and Instagram, there are just so many outrageous foods out there. Even if I'm not hungry, I find myself craving the most unlikely and unusual things. A couple of weeks ago, I dreamed up these Pound Cake Fries.
Originally I imagined them with the perfect strawberry sauce and whipped cream. I couldn't find a simple solution for getting strawberry sauce that would work perfectly. Plan B time. Next up for a yummy combo would naturally be chocolate and caramel. So, that's the ultra sweet road we're headed down now.
This is an extremely easy quick fix when you have a craving. We're just slicing up store bought pound cake. I used frozen Sara Lee cake and thawed it before baking. Yeah, we're mot going to actually fry this. Let's keep the outrageous to a minimum, ha! The low broiler setting on my oven got these done quickly, so no waiting or long extra steps. When they're done, just top them with whatever you're craving. Ice cream sauces are perfect for this and if you want to take them over the top, try some whipped cream too!
