Looking for a unique fish sandwich recipe to make at home? Let's face it, the traditional way to enjoy a fish sandwich is pretty set in stone. It's a world wonder, no question about that. And fast food fish sandwiches? Total classic! I thought it would be the perfect time of the year to add a unique twist to keep things fresh and enticing. That's how I came up with what I'm now calling a better than fast food fish sandwich. It's so easy to make with fresh mango salsa, sliced avocado topped with a very simple garlic mayo. Let's get hooked! This is a sponsored post about Gorton’s, all opinions are my own.
This idea came to me after thinking about unique ways to serve up fish in the spring.
With Lent in full swing, I figured many of you would be looking for something just like this too.
Since eating delish food is one of my very favorite things to do in a day, digging into my bag of clever ideas is a must.
With Gorton's products in my freezer, there is always a simply delish meal ahead!
My husband is pretty picky and he requested a second sandwich for dinner, so I know this one is going to be happily replayed over and over again.
Better Than Fast Food Fish Sandwich Recipe
I stumbled on the most perfectly ripened mangoes that really made this sandwich pop!
This recipe makes four better than fast food fish sandwiches, so it's perfect for a mouth watering family meal.
Best of all, it's ready in well under 30 minutes!
This is definitely my kind of flavor party!
To get started, we'll put the Gorton's Fish Sandwich Fillets in the oven and prepare according to directions.
While that's cooking, we'll prepare the fresh mango salsa.
The ripe mangoes are the ones that have a very little softness to them upon squeezing.
It's worth giving them a tiny squeeze at the grocery store to find the best one!
I definitely struck gold with this one.
For more amazing flavor for the salsa add red onion, cilantro, fresh lime juice and a pinch of salt. Yum.
After the salsa is made, store in the refrigerator and make the garlic mayo.
Finally, right before our Fish Fillets are ready to serve, cut the avocado into slices.
To serve, spread garlic mayo over each Fish Fillet and top with sliced avocado.
