Making an adorable charcuterie style snack in a tea cup is so easy and just downright fun. You can add all sweet or all savory items. I loved making a mix of both in mine. Let me share what I added to mine to help get that creative mojo started.

Over the holiday season, I went to two afternoon tea events and I am just hooked on the idea. If hosting your own "tea" at home, these snacks would be delightful. You can really show off by using your old vintage tea cups or some trendy new ones like the bow tea cups I recently purchased too.

HOW TO MAKE CHARCUTERIE TEACUPS

Once you gather up some gorgeous tea cups, it's time to add some goodies to them. Lets go through the ingredients used to make these and then I will share some quick tips on how to assemble them, too.

INGREDIENTS FOR CHARCUTERIE IN A TEACUP

For this version, I focused on fruits, cheeses, crackers and sweets. You can customize yours adding charcuterie friendly meats if you like, too. A small salami rose looks fantastic in the mix.

Start with pretty teacups like these bow teacup and saucer set.

PREPARE CHARCUTERIE TEACUPS

To get started, I like to add a little something to the base of my cups. If I am doing something sweet, I will often use mini marshmallows. They will help keep everything else in place.

You can also use a bit of paper towel or just fill with ingredients. Deciding if you need a filler will depend on the size and shape of your cup.

If you will make meat or cheese flowers like I did, you will want to prepare them in advance. I recommend using a toothpick to hold them in place while you are layering everything in your cups. You can remove them right before snuggling them into place.

To make these teacups, I started by adding in the chocolate bar, crackers and cracker breadsticks to back of the cups.

Then, I added in the grapes and worked around them to fill in with these cheeses and the rest of the fruits. Be sure all fruit is nice and dry so it doesn't dampen the other ingredients.

As a final touch, I added a couple of fresh sage leaves as a final touch. Feel free to swap out with your favorite herbs instead. Rosemary or thyme are both beautiful options.

Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. I recommend making these within an hour or two of serving so items don't go stale or damp.
