FALL BRUNCH BOARD INGREDIENTS

The best thing about this brunch grazing board is that you can literally add whatever you want based on what your family likes and what you have on hand.

I put together this super simple board really quick and will share exactly what I added to mine to help get you started.

Too keep up with the fall theme, you could also add caramel syrup, fall-themed sprinkles and pumpkin mini muffins.

For a more hearty brunch board, you could also add breakfast meats such as bacon and sausage or eggs.

HOW TO MAKE PUMPKIN-SHAPED WAFFLES

One of the easiest ways to make pumpkin-shaped waffles is to use a waffle iron intended exactly for that. It's actually super inexpensive to purchase one, too. Bonus.

Here are the three main mini pumpkin waffle makers on the market at the time of this post:

Now don't laugh at me, I do realize that the pumpkin waffles in my photos are not exactly pumpkin-shaped but using the pumpkin waffle maker gives you the option to fill the mold all the way or just fill the pumpkin centers. It's a choice really and as you can see, I made mine a little different. I love them either way, but I think this option was the easiest and most fool-proof way.

HOT TIP #1: Use Orange Food Coloring Gel to Tint your Batter for a prettier pumpkin waffle. Don't go overboard with it, you don't want to add too much liquid to your batter.

HOT TIP #2. Don't use a thick batter. I tried to use a homemade waffle recipe in my mini pumpkin waffle maker and it was a complete FAIL. Literally went through the whole entire batch and not one single waffle came out right.

WHAT WORKS? I recommend using a store-bought mix or at least a recipe that comes out thin and perfectly pourable.

HOW TO MAKE WAFFLES OUT OF KRUSTEAZ PANCAKE MIX

I used Krusteaz Pancake Mix and tweaked it using their on-package instructions for waffles and that worked perfectly for mine EVERY TIME.

Here is that recipe:

  • 2 Cups Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
  • 1.5 Cups Cold Water
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 TBSP Vegetable Oil

Directions: Blend all ingredients together to form batter.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE A BRUNCH BOARD FOR FALL

It's easy to create your own fall brunch spread. Just follow a few simple steps and you'll have an Insta worthy board in no time. I like to keep things simple, but aesthetic nowadays. I believe you can achieve both without going overboard.

STEP 1: Pick a serving tray, either round, square or rectangular. Be sure it's large enough to feed the crowd you are serving.

STEP 2: Use small dishes to serve any wet items such as the butter, fresh or canned fruits and spreads. Place the dishes either in the center (like I did) or around the edge of your serving tray.

STEP 3: Prepare all of your additional items that you will put on your tray. Then, make your pumpkin-shaped waffles or get a family member to tag team this. Once they are done place the waffles down. I loved them on the outer edge of my tray, but you can place them anywhere you like.

STEP4: Fill in all of the extra space using all of your smaller dry toppings such as pecans, candies and mini marshmallows.

That's it! Now, serve immediately before your waffles get too chilly and ENJOY.
