This decadent Nutella dessert is so easy to make. With just a handful of simple ingredients and a store-bought chocolate crust, it's a total keeper.

INGREDIENTS TO MAKE NO BAKE NUTELLA PIE

This no bake pie calls for 5 ingredients and then 1 optional garnish if you want to make your pie extra fancy. Keep it as simple or make it as fancy as you like.

Here are the ingredients needed:

Side note, I added chocolate drizzle for extra pretty photo shots. It's not necessary to do to make this great pie.

But if you want to that extra mile, I say go for it!

HOW TO MAKE NUTELLA PIE

Whip up the perfect Nutella recipe in just minutes! Here is how!

Start by beating the cream cheese and Nutella together using a hand or stand mixer for 2-3 minutes. Scrape the sides of the bowl so that everything gets mixed in well.

Once that is blended perfectly, turn mixer to low and add the heavy cream and dry pudding mix.

Increase the speed to medium gradually until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. This will take about two minutes. Make sure to scrape down the sides to mix well.

Spread the mixture into your OREO pie crust and spread it out evenly using a spatula.

Wrap up your pie loosely with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for a minimum of four hours or until it's completely set.

To fancy up your pie, pipe whipped topping all over the top using a 1 M Wilton tip and piping bag right before serving.

To go the extra mile if you like, sprinkle mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings over the top. This step is completely optional, but it sure does look pretty.

Serve this yummy pie chilled.

NUTELLA PIE INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTES

NUTELLA - You can use Nutella or a generic brand of hazelnut spread for this pie.

HEAVY CREAM: You can substitute half and half or whole milk for the heavy cream but you may not get as thick of a pie. If you use anything with less fat than whole milk, such as fat free milk, you may want to start with just 1 cup and add more only if the mixture is too thick.

INSTANT CHOCOLATE PUDDING: You can also use a vanilla pudding mix for a slightly different but still delicious flavor.

PIE CRUST - I love the ease of just using a premade crust however you can make your own chocolate pie crust if you wish using chocolate graham crackers or OREOS and butter.

GARNISHES - I think this pie would also look awesome with maraschino cherries on top.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY NUTELLA PIE?

This pie stores best without the toppings on it so I recommend putting them on just before serving the pie. With or without the toppings this pie can be kept in the refrigerator for 3-4 days before you will begin to notice a change in consistency.

Be sure to store it covered so that it doesn’t take on any scents from your refrigerator or freezer. It can be frozen for up to 6 months and thawed overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR THIS NO BAKE PIE?

The most important tip for making this type of pie is to be sure that your cream cheese is at room temperature before you start. I like to set it out about an hour or so before I plan to make the pie so that I can be sure it is nice and soft. A hard cream cheese will not mix well and you may end up with lumps of it in your otherwise smooth and creamy pie.

I also highly recommend using a mixer for this recipe. Some recipes, such as cakes and muffins, can be mixed by hand but getting a creamy pie filling without an electric mixer of some sort is very difficult and exhausting.

No Bake Nutella Pie

Yield: 8
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Additional Time: 4 hours
Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes

Creamy no bake Nutella pie made with just 5 easy ingredients. Nutella comes together perfectly in a store-bought OREO crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (13 ounce) jar hazelnut spread
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) box instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 (6 ounce) pre-packaged OREO pie crust
  • Whipped topping, optional garnish
  • Mini-chocolate chips or chocolate shavings or chocolate sauce, optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Use a hand or stand mixer to beat the cream cheese and Nutella together in a large mixing bowl until creamy and fully combined, about 2-3 minutes. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl half way through to get everything incorporated.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and pudding mix  and begin beating the contents on low speed.
  3. Slowly increase the speed of the mixer to medium and then high until you have a smooth, fluffy mixture, about 2 minutes. Use a spatula to again scrape the sides halfway through beating so that everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Gently scoop the mixture into the prepared OREO pie crust and spread it evenly all over the crust with a spatula.
  5. Wrap the pie loosely in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight, or until set.
  6. When ready to serve your pie, pipe whipped topping all over the top using a 1 M Wilton tip and piping bag, optional and sprinkle mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings over the top, optional.
  7. Cut into 8 pieces and serve chilled.

Notes

If you would like the pie to set faster you can place it in the freezer for 1-2 hours. If you choose to freeze the pie it will set faster but it is not as pleasant to eat when completely frozen. Make sure you set a timer so that you don’t forget to take it out of the freezer. I recommend leaving it no longer than 2 hours or thawing it in the refrigerator for several hours if you freeze it solid.
