You can't go wrong when you focus on making every day a celebration, while we're big football fans, my son loves playing basketball. The proof? The basketball hoop in our front yard where he and his friends shoot hoops for hours. Side note: I'd love to bottle up that energy. When it comes to working out and getting sweaty, my teen is totally on top of that. Keeping stocked up on his favorite products is where I swoop in. He might be good at scoring points in a game of hoops, but I'm more suited for scoring deals. 😉

Slam Dunk Basketball Party Sign

To make basketball season a little more inspiring for myself, I went over to Target to grab my deals and to shop for ideas on how to make a basketball party sign worthy of any good soiree. I'm kind of a sucker for party supplies and my mom was a bad influence. As we were zooming through the aisles, my mom kept pointing out the most adorable things. It was rough trying to just focus on what I needed for this DIY. I may or may not have picked up some extras.

Here are the supplies purchased at Target to make this basketball party sign:

Black & White Striped Gift Wrap

Orange Balloons

Orange Streamers

Orange Polka Dot Banner

Black Striped Banner

Gold Alphabet Stickers

Black Construction Paper

Gold Garland

Orange Garland

Poster Board

Tape & Scissors

The sky is the limit when it comes to how to set up your own sign. I loved using black and white to represent basketball referee uniforms. Orange was a no brainer to match an actual basketball and adding gold helped to add some balance and flair.

For the base of your sign, use poster board covered with the black & white striped gift wrap.

Carefully spell out "slam dunk" using the gold alphabet stickers on a piece of black construction paper.

For a little flair, layer strips of orange streamers at the bottom of the sign.

To take your sign over the top, string your banners over the front of your sign

For a final touch, use single bunches from your packs of garland and balloons on the corners of your sign.
