Candy Cane Ice Cream Cupcakes
Quick shortcuts can be a big help during the busy holiday season. That's why I was excited to share my holiday recipe idea using store-bought ice cream with you. This is such a festive and easy treat that everyone easily loves.
I've always relied on freezer foods, the best part is that they are very long lasting. Even if I can't run out for fresh ingredients, I'll always have that back up plan waiting in the freezer.
Whether it's a frozen lasagna waiting to be cooked or frozen chicken and some perfectly ripened frozen veggies, it really helps serve up a delicious meal without the extra fuss.
I find that purchasing frozen vegetables is also a big money saver.
Plus, I hate when produce goes bad and we end up throwing it away!
Being able to grab a box or bag of something good is priceless to me and a huge asset to our family.
Being able to reach into my freezer to make a meal is especially awesome when my time is limited. With all the shopping and list of things to do during this time of the year, I find myself relying on my go-to dinner back ups that I have on hand.
Keeping stocked up will definitely help me avoid having to order pizza and spend extra bucks too. With 3,700+ different freezer foods to choose from, there is something for everyone.
On the flip side, I love freezing leftovers too. It's convenient especially if I'm not sure that we will eat them up before they go bad.
Now what about a satisfying treat for the holidays? Buy now, make later without worrying about ingredients going bad quickly.
I visited my dairy aisle in the refrigerated section to pick up some whipped cream and then the freezer section to get ice cream.
I know sometimes I overlook that the dairy case is loaded with farm-grown ingredients too. It's a yummy way to get creative while still serving fresh meals to your family.
I personally love yogurt or making creamy soups with milk. So many possibilities for the whole family!
On to the tasty stuff!

These look delicious! I have to say - I love that you come up with so many great recipes that take a minimal amount of ingredients or use things I already have on hand. It's handy to not need to find a specialty market - or a market at all! - to make many of the treats you post about.
Thanks so much for noticing Liza! That is definitely how I roll 😉 I like to keep it simple! These are so tasty, you won't need any fancy shmancy ingredients for sure 😉
Ice cream cup cakes, what a super cool idea. This looks like a simple, but elegant dessert. I will have to keep this in mind for a dinner party.
These look absolutely amazing!!! Pinning!
I don't like cake (so I don't like cupcakes) but this is DEFINITELY an exception. Yummy!
So my sweet tooth just kicked in... MUST MAKE NOW! 😀
I must make these! These look delicious.
I wish you lived next door to me. I would be at your house every day for your next creation. These are not only adorable, but they have peppermint in them and I LOVE peppermint with ice cream (and everything else).
This is such a great idea and it looks tasty!
Hi Dawn,
We love making ice cream cakes and cupcakes at my house. My oldest daughter asks for it on her birthday each year. I don't complain because it takes me less than 10 minutes to prepare and is always such a great crowd pleaser. Everyone looks at you like you accomplished this wonderful task, when really all you did was thaw ice cream and repackage it, lol.
Love this idea! I needed some new ones to revamp our crushed Oreo ice cream cake.
Thanks again,
Victoria

YUM! These are so cute and just look so delicious!
We rely on frozen foods, especially during busy weeks. I love getting frozen veggies rather than fresh because we pretty much eliminate waste from the food going bad. These ice cream cupcakes couldn't be enjoyed without freezer foods either!!
This seems like a recipe that my boys could help me with. I love recipes were the entire family can get involved.
Oh, these sound great...and I love that they are individual.
Ironically, my mom was just telling me she was looking for chocolate wafer cookies with no luck. Where did you find them?
These look delish, going to have to try them this month!
These are fantastic! : )
What a fun and easy dessert idea! This would make a great Christmas dessert.
These look absolutely amazing! I want them in my belly now!
These look delicious!!! I just pinned, definitely going to try to recreate these later this week!!
This is so cute and I had no idea you could do this. I could do this for a birthday party in the summer as a side treat for kids.
