Comfort Food: Baked Bacon Mac & Cheese
When the weather gets cooler, I find myself making more comfort food. I think comfort food gets a bad wrap, to me it's a food that brings me back to some of my best childhood moments. My mom always made the best foods when I was kid and any dish that brings me back to those fun times is a win. Today, I'm sharing easy Baked Bacon Mac & Cheese that hits the spot. Baked Bacon Mac & Cheese
To make this deliciously simple recipe, we're using 2 Boxes of Annie’s Organic Shells & White Cheddar Mac & Cheese and adding more cheese and some bacon. An easy breadcrumb topping will bring all of the flavors together in a delicious way.
1Easy White Baked Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 Boxes of Annie’s Organic Shells & White Cheddar Mac & Cheese
- 2 Cups of Shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese
- 6 Slices of Cooked Bacon, chopped
- ½ Cup of Milk
- ¼ Cup of Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Butter, Melted (Reserved)
- 3 Tablespoons Breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Prepare Annie’s Organic Shells & White Cheddar Mac & Cheese according to directions and stop once the shells are drained. While it's boiling, prepare the breadcrumbs Once the shells are drained mix 1 Tablespoon melted butter with 3 Tablespoons of breadcrumbs and set aside. Mix powdered cheese packets, milk, ¼ cup butter, Monterrey Jack Cheese and bacon together. Pour into a small shallow baking dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top. Broil on low for 10 minutes or until the breadcrumb topping is dry and lightly browned.
