This is a question that I often have to summon an answer for around here.

My mind races. I open the fridge and realize there's really nothing to make... again.

BUT. It's what's in my freezer that usually saves the day.

Keeping stocked on tasty go-tos like Gorton's Fish Sticks can turn a moment of sheer panic into one of dinner victory.

I can basically make SO many tasty unique meals with a little creativity. Serve them as is... or make something really memorable in minutes. Enter Fish & Chips Sheet Pan "Nachos". A seriously simple idea that can make you instantly feel like you're winning this whole dinner thing.

To make this easy twist on Fish & Chips, I baked up steak fries and a bag of Gorton's Fish Sticks. Once they are both done baking, lay them out on a sheet pan and get ready for a tasty transformation with just a handful of ingredients.

This easy dish is elevated by using the basic ingredients typically used in making tartar sauce as "nacho" toppings instead. Plus. Cheese. Always cheese.

To make these Fish & Chips "Nachos" pop, melt the cheese over top by broiling in the oven. Then immediately top with lemon slices, dill pickle slices and fresh parsley. Then, whip up a quick sauce using mayo mixed with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Mmm. Seriously good.

Fish & Chips Sheet Pan “Nachos”

Ingredients

  • Gorton's Fish Sticks, 19 oz package, prepared according to package directions
  • Steak Fries, 28oz package, prepared according to package directions
  • 3 Baby Dill Pickles, sliced
  • 1 Lemon, sliced
  • 1 Cup Monterey Jack Shredded Cheese
  • 4-5 Fresh Parsley Sprigs
  • Sauce:
  • ½ cup of Mayonnaise
  • Lemon Juice, Half lemon squeezed
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  1. Bake the fries first, according to package directions and set aside. Bake your Gorton's Fish Sticks according to package directions. While your fries and fish sticks are baking, make a sauce by mixing the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and pepper and set aside. Once the fries and fish sticks are baked, evenly spread them out on one sheet pan. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top and broil on low until the cheese is melted. Just a minute or two. Then, add lemon slices, pickles and parsley. Finally, drizzle the mayonnaise sauce over top. Enjoy!

For easy serving, just place the sheet pan of "nachos" right in the center of the table and let your family have at it. I love family style serving, it really adds to the experience of coming together to share a meal together.
