There is so much to know about Mardi Gras, but I'll let you hit up the internet if you want to learn more. However, I want to share a little about what Fat Tuesday is so that you will without doubt, know that this dessert board is the absolute perfect way to amp up your festivities!

Traditionally it's the day when people load up on eats and sweets before Lent. You see how this would be the perfect dessert grazing board to get into the celebratory spirit?

MARDI GRAS CANDY AND DESSERTS

It's time to fill our boards and trays with the very best Mardi Gras inspired candies and treats. I've spent time hand-picking all of these perfect add ons with a strong purple, green and gold theme. This time around, I've includes some fun props into the mix to really make this flashy and take it over the top. These vibrant colors make me so happy.

  • Mardi Gras sprinkles - My favorite is the King Cake mix from Fancy Sprinkles this season. This is my referral link if you're interested in checking them out here. It's the perfect vibrant combination of jimmies, dragees and little stars. I also used these cute gold Wilton stars here.

HOW TO MAKE A MARDI GRAS CANDY CHARCUTERIE

Before we get started making this candy charcuterie board, here are my favorite simple points to keep in mind:

  1. Variety of Candy, Colors & Textures - in this case, purple, green & gold
  2. Strong Theming - for this board, Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday.
  3. Abundance of Offerings and Fillers - sprinkles are smaller candies are perfect fillers.

The first thing to do is to choose a large tray or board and make all of your candy and treat picks.

Pick out some smaller dishes & bowls to divide things and make your colors and selections stand out.

Alternate colors and textures when you lay out your sweets.

Be sure to fill the entire tray or board so that it's full and gives off that abundance vibe that I mentioned.

After trying your hand at making your own sweet treat board, you will soon see how easy it is to make your own. Have fun with it!
