The Golden Touch: DIY Glitter Mason Jar Candles
I am a sucker for glittery things. But, let's face it. Projects with glitter can get pretty messy. Think about spilled glitter? Nah. That's why I use glitter spray paint for most of my crafty projects involving glitter. It's so easy to give a splash of the sparkly stuff with just a few spritzes. If you've been following along, I've been talking about my living room makeover that is currently in progress. Join me on my decorating spree to complete the look! This post is part of a sponsored series by Raymour & Flanigan. All ideas expressed are my own.
I've decided to decorate with whites, creams, dark browns as well as metallic colors with gold and silvery hues. The main pieces of furniture that we chose feature antiqued mirror. I shared the large server which is the focus point in the room and the pretty mirrored chest, now I want to show you the last mirrored piece that we'll have in the room. It's the Kira Mirrored Accent Table which we'll be putting between two of the awesome sitting chairs that I picked. It is going to look stellar!
These pieces that we hand picked at Raymour & Flanigan really have completely upgraded and updated the space. Who would have thought you could do that without painting and remodeling?
Now, on to this simple glitter project that really adds extra pretty to the room!
DIY Glitter Mason Jar Candles
To create my glitter mason jar candles, I used clean mason jars. I chose two different sizes to make it more interesting. Then, glitter spray paint and tea lights. Make sure to read the directions on your own glitter spray as they will vary. I made sure to lay down some plastic underneath my crafting area and I also used a large cardboard insert to cover around the area. Makes for easy clean up too! My glitter dried super fast!
The final step is to insert a tea light into the jar. Voila! You have a pretty decorative candle!
Adding a little decor to a room can be ridiculously simple like this project, but check out how cool it looks reflecting off of our new glass top furniture. Really adds ambiance.
Can't wait to share a little more about my big living room makeover each day until my big reveal!
Have you created with glitter? What did you make?
Love these! Adding them to my Mason Jar board. My Tinkerbell -lovin girls would love them. 🙂
I love this idea, I've been painting jars lately, too, to put gifts inside and as house decor. Love the gold glitter on yours!
