DIY SPA AT HOME IDEAS

I've shared ideas on how to gift a DIY Spa Ideas and Sanity Gift in a box, I thought it would be a great idea to put together a big checklist for everyone who wants to enjoy some R&R right in their own homes. This printable could also be included in a gift to friends. It doesn't need to be complicated, you can stock up on everything you need for your spa day at your local drugstore.

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to download your own BIG DIY spa checklist. Here are some ideas to get your pampering plan started.

1. SET THE MOOD FOR A RELAXING EXPERIENCE

Before you get started, set the mood to ensure that you have the most relaxing experience possible. Dim the lights in your home, close the curtains, and light a few candles with some of the best scents.

The comforting aroma of the candles will put you in such a great mood before you even begin enjoying different spa services at home. You might even want to put some music on to play lightly in the background instead of watching television.

2. SOAK YOUR FEET AND ENJOY AN AT-HOME PEDICURE

Use a foot bath to soak your feet. Even if you do not have an at-home pedicure tub, you can use a large basin by filling it up with warm water, Epsom salts, and your favorite essential oils.

Soak your feet for 10-20 minutes before scrubbing the bottoms to remove dead skin, carefully removing cuticles around the toenails, drying the feet off, and applying lotion to the soles.

You may then want to trim your toenails, file them down a bit, and use your favorite nail polish color to make your toes look fresh and pretty.

3. GIVE YOURSELF A CLEANSING FACIAL

Give yourself a facial to treat your skin to ingredients that help unclog pores, leaving the face smoother and softer than before. Start by removing any excess makeup and carefully cleansing with a gentle facial cleanser.

If you have a facial steamer, use it to open your pores. If you do not have a facial steamer, boil some hot water and then place your face over the pot with the water while wearing a towel over your head.

The steam from the pot will reach your skin and open the pores without burning you. Once you have opened the pores, extract any blackheads, apply a soothing mask, and then rinse off to reveal glowing, healthy skin.

4. TREAT YOUR HAIR TO A NUTRITIONAL MASK

During your at-home spa extravaganza, you can even treat your hair to a nourishing mask that leaves it hydrated to prevent dryness and split ends. You can purchase a deep conditioning mask or make one at home using only natural ingredients, such as raw egg, mashed avocado, and mashed banana. Wash your hair with shampoo, rinse out, and then apply the deep conditioning mask.

Place a plastic hair cap over your hair and allow the mask to soak into it for at least 30 minutes. Rinse the mask out, dry your hair, and comb through it to see how soft and shiny your hair will look.

When you want to enjoy a day of pampering without spending much money, set up a spa day at home. Create the perfect relaxing environment, and then give yourself a pedicure, facial, and hair mask. You can even complete other spa services, such as a manicure, full-body exfoliation, and more. How do you plan on having a spa day at home?
