Savor The Moment with these DIY Tea Coasters

Savor The Moment with these DIY Tea Coasters

This is a sponsored post for HemisFares™ brand that is available exclusively at Kroger family of stores.  All opinions are honest and 100% my own.

When it comes to kicking back and taking a little time to unwind, tea is definitely my beverage of choice. There's something about it that seems to soothe with every sip. For a glorious new tea experience, I'm sharing more of my culinary journey with HemisFares teas today. I thought it would be fun to make some DIY Tea Coasters that are perfect for resting your mug on in between sips.

DIY Tea Coasters

You might remember my rainbow pasta salad recipe where I shared HemisFares pasta. They literally took a trip right to Italy to capture authentic flavors and we get to reap the rewards from their hard work. Yum. This made me excited to see what else they had in store, and the time has arrived. Our next stop is Japan to try some loose leaf teas! Hop aboard this culinary train!

The variety really intrigued me and to be honest I haven't tried very much loose leaf tea to date. So, I made sure to get my hands on a tea ball so that I could try these intriguing teas. You can find their Sencha Green Tea Loose Leaf, Genmaicha Toasted Rice Green Tea Loose Leaf and Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Loose Leaf at your local Kroger or Kroger family stores. But first, I want to share a quick and easy way to make DIY coasters.

DIY Tea Coasters

To make these simple coasters, all you need are tiles that you can pick up at your local home improvement store. What makes this extra fun is that it's a really inexpensive DIY that anyone can make. You can design your tiles any way that you would like and it's made simple with the use of an oil based paint pen.

For these tea DIY coasters, I used a pretty metallic gold oil based pen. I love Sharpie brand "fine point" oil based paint pens for easy writing. To finalize the design that I wanted to use, I chose pretty fonts and practiced writing them out before attempting to write on the tiles. You can try your hand directly on the tiles because you can easily erase with the use of rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball or paper towel. Once you have your words written on the tiles, you can choose to use a sealant like Modge Podge to ensure your designs stay put. But, generally your oil based paint should provide long last results without this step.

For a final touch, glue felt sheets or use little round felt stickers on the back of each tile to prevent scratches on your table with the somewhat rough tile surface. This whole process can be done in no time and there are so many ways to decorate your own coasters. Have fun with it!

Some other tea inspired phrases that I like for these:

Tea Time

If it's tea, it's for me.

Tea Time, Me Time

Now that we have our special tea inspired coasters, it's time for.... TEA. HemisFares loose leaf teas are a unique option for a clean tasting authentic tea experience.

Their teas were really crisp and refreshing to sip on. I'm excited for all of the possibilities. I'll be savoring each flavor when I need a me-moment which, let me tell you... is really often.
