Think gorgeous gumballs and Sixlets® and Pearls… oh my! I am just obsessed with all of their gorgeous options! GINGERBREAD SHAPED SUGAR COOKIES
I'm so excited about how these cute cookies look. Simple, but a holiday show-stopper at the same time which is pretty much an epic hack for awesomeness. Let me show you how I made them.
Here's what you need to make these:
- Store Bought Sugar Cookie Dough
- All Purpose Flour
- Cookie Icing and Writing Icings
- Shimmer™ White Pearls
- Shimmer™ Pink Pearls
- Shimmer™ Lavender Pearls
- Assortment of Icing Decorations and Sprinkles
- Gingerbread Man Cookie Cutter
The key to using store-bought cookie dough is to add all purpose flour into the mix. Then, after you form your cookie shapes they need to be chilled to reduce spreading. These two simple steps make an incredible difference and make for a happy outcome.
Start by heating that oven and kneading the cookie dough on a floured surface. Then, we will roll it out to about ¼" thick and use a gingerbread shaped cookie cutter. This is where you store in the freezer or refrigerator to chill the dough before baking. Once they are cool, use pink cookie icing to carefully cover your gingerbread sugar cookies. Then use icing writers to make a tiny smile and other gingerbread inspired decor.
Once the cookies are iced, it's time to pull out all of the colorful Color It Candy Shimmer Pearls and your other other sprinkles and icing decorations.
Voila! You now have ridiculously cute cookies for all of your festive celebrations.
