"Crack chicken" recipes and all kinds of "cracked out" recipes have been blowing up on Pinterest and social media for a few years now, but have you tried it yet? Typically they are creamy recipes make with a combination of specific flavors – namely chicken, bacon, cheese and ranch mix.

CRACK CHICKEN BURGER RECIPE
So what makes these burgers so special? The creamy and flavorful mixture helps keep the patties juicy and mouthwatering. Plus, this recipe includes such simple ingredients such as ground chicken, bacon, cheese, mayonnaise, dry ranch mix and dried chives and they come together perfectly in your hands.
CRACK CHICKEN BURGER INGREDIENTS
Crack chicken burgers are made with very simple ingredients that are easy to find and have so much flavor packed into them, you'll want to make them over and over again all summer long. Here are the ingredients needed to make them:
Ground Chicken - is an excellent and versatile ingredient for many recipes. It makes for a great alternative to ground beef. It's also easily available and ready for the last minute recipes you may need in a pinch.
Cooked Bacon - isn't only for breakfast. This simple ingredient adds SO much smoky flavor to the ground chicken patties in this recipe.
Shredded Cheddar Cheese - you can use any variety of shredded cheese, but cheddar will make this burger pop easily. Feel free to play around for different flavor variations.
Mayonnaise - not just a sandwich condiment! I highly recommend using Hellmann's or Best Foods mayo in a variety of recipes. It makes burgers extra juicy and gives it the perfect tang.
Dry Ranch Mix - is a dry blend of spices and herbs traditionally used to whip up an extremely popular American salad dressing. As delicious as it is versatile, can be found on the shelves of every grocery store and makes a surprising ingredient to a lot of traditional recipes.
Dried Chives - are a time-saving addition to any recipe. Throw them in sauces, mix into batches of mashed potatoes, or sprinkle them on your sandwich for a savory flavor without any work! They help add an extra zing to this recipe.
PREPARE GROUND CHICKEN FOR BURGERS
Mix all ingredients together in a medium sized mixing bowl, using hands will be better but be sure to wash them well after.
Take one handful of the mixture and form a ball first then flatten into a patty. They should be big and thick. About 3-4” in diameter and 1” thick.
This should give you 6 large patties.
Arrange the chicken burger patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
HOW TO GRILL CRACK CHICKEN BURGERS
To be completely upfront, these burgers are BEST on a grill. However, they are still delicious when cooked on the stove top albeit a bit messier because of the fats. See below for tips. I would not recommend cooking on a George Foreman Grill because it will squeeze all the juicy flavor out and also flatten.
Warm up your grill to medium-high heat and spray with cooking spray. These burgers will have a tendency to stick. Once you have the burgers on the grill don’t turn until half way through the cooking time. (About 12 Minutes Total) *See Notes for Stovetop Cooking Tips
Flip the burgers and cook for the remaining cooking time. Check with a cooking thermometer, the inside should read 160°F. They will cook a little more after you take them off the grill.
If you like cheese on top of your burger feel free to throw a slice on right at the end.
GROUND CHICKEN BURGER TOPPINGS
Serve on a burger bun with your favorite dressings and toppings. Mayo is the perfect simple condiment if you ask me, but you can use almost any condiment and dressing you love.
Layer with fresh lettuces, sliced tomatoes and onions for an over the top meal.
Voila! Enjoy every last bite and try not to eat more than one.
HOW TO STORE CHICKEN BURGERS
Once cooled these burgers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave before eating again.
CAN I FREEZE CHICKEN BURGERS?
Yes, they freeze well. Wrap in plastic wrap and then foil and freeze for up to 3 months.
CAN I COOK THESE BURGERS ON THE STOVE?
Definitely. If you have a grill pan that will give you those nice dark lines across your burgers and act like a bbq grill.
Otherwise, in a regular pan is also ok, with a little olive oil.
