5: Fill in the outside edges of the board with the remaining chocolate treats however you see fit, filling in any empty spaces with mini Oreo cookies.

6: Finish by adding the ghost and tome icing decorations and gummy worms. Dig in!

Storage

Refrigerator: Store for up to 3 days in an air-tight container. Any longer than that, and the treats on top of the dirt cake start to get soggy.

Freezer: I don't recommend freezing this. It's just too hard to store, and it won't be quite as good after defrosting.

Make Ahead: This is best when it's freshly made, so all the treats are nice and fresh.

FAQ

What is a Ghosts in the Graveyard dessert?
Ghosts in the Graveyard dessert is a variation of dirt cake that's made with chocolate pudding and crushed OREO cookies. This version uses chocolate frosting in place of chocolate pudding.

Can I use any kind of chocolate snack cakes for this recipe?
You sure can! I loaded this dessert tray up with my favorite snack cakes and cookies, but you can use any of your favorite chocolate treats.

Why can't I freeze this Ghosts in the Graveyard dessert?
There's just too much going on in this recipe to freeze it. It's so uneven that it's almost impossible to keep enough air out of it to prevent freezer burn, and the treats just don't taste quite the same after you defrost them.
