This Jack Skellington Dessert Board made with frosting will be an instant hit party food hit for all The Nightmare Before Christmas fans out there and I know there are many. The new dessert charcuterie board IS the frosting board if you ask me. The idea seems to have started with the need to make dessert versions of that viral butter board. I'm totally here for all of it to be honest. Bring it all on. If there is something I love about social media, it's the FUN new ideas to try.

Frosting dessert boards are super sweet, easy to customize for any party theme and just downright delicious. The possibilities are so endless.

If you are not the buttercream or frosting type, dessert cheeseball platters are totally hot and also customizable. In addition, I came up with this pudding dip board idea that I've had fun with from Barbie to Football. I will try anything once, friends.

This Jack Skellington Board falls under what I've happily nicknamed a BOOtercream board and I've just decided a BOO board totally works, too. On that note, let's totally BOO this.

The Nightmare Before Christmas fans will delight with this fun Jack Skellington dessert board made with frosting and fun dipping cookies and snacks.

First, let's go over the simple ingredients used to make this.

Gather up all those ingredients and get ready to whip up this spooktacular Jack Skellington inspired desert charcuterie.

STEPS TO MAKE A JACK SKELLINGTON BOARD

Fit a pastry bag with a round pastry tip and fill it with all of the icing. 

Begin by drawing a circle using the icing at the center of your serving board.

Fill the entire circle, utilizing all of the icing. 

Smooth the frosting with an offset spatula to achieve a neat circle.

Use the black sparkle gel to create two tilted oval-shaped eyes and two small dots for the nose. Sketch a slightly curved line to form the smile and then add smaller vertical lines across it to resemble stitching.

Place Fudge Rounds in the top right and bottom left corners of the serving tray.

Position brownie bites in the top left and bottom right corners.

Fill the remaining white space with a variety of full-sized cookies and pretzels. 

Fill any additional empty spaces with smaller cookies, licorice wheels, gummy pumpkins, and mini marshmallows.

Add as many sour worms as desired for an extra special touch.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Wilton Creamy Decorator Icing, Medium
  • Wilton Black Sparkle Gel or Black Icing Writer
  • 4 Little Debbie Fudge Rounds
  • 6 Brownie Bites
  • 8 Fudge Stripe Cookies
  • 8 OREO Cookies
  • 6 Mini OREO Cookies
  • 8 Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 8 Mini Chocolate Pretzels
  • 8 Mini Fudge Stripe Cookies
  • ½ C Black Licorice Wheels
  • ½ C Gummy Pumpkins
  • ⅓ Cup Mini Marshmallows
  • Sour Gummy Worms

Instructions

Fit a pastry bag with a round pastry tip and fill it with all the icing.

Start by drawing a circle with the icing in the center of your serving board.

Fill the entire circle, using up all the icing.

Use an offset spatula to smooth the frosting, creating a neat circle.

Use the black sparkle gel to draw two tilted oval-shaped eyes and two small dots for the nose. Create a slightly curved line for the smile, and then add smaller vertical lines across it to give it a stitched appearance just like Jack.

Place Fudge Rounds at the top right and bottom left corners of the square tray.

Position brownie bites in the top left and bottom right corners.

Fill the remaining open white space with a variety of full-sized cookies and pretzels.

Use smaller cookies, licorice wheels, gummy pumpkins, and mini marshmallows to fill any extra empty spaces.

Add some colorful sour worms to finish decorating.
