DIY Sunglasses

Designing your own sunglasses is easier than you think and the possibilities are endless.

Here's what you need

*White Plain Sunglasses. I used Vintage Oversized and Classic 80s Vintage

*Paint Markers. I used Sharpie Oil Based Paint Markers in Aqua and Gold

*Gems. You can use stick on or regular, I used gold gems. You can use a glue gun or super glue to adhere them, too.

*Nail polish remover & cotton swabs - for emergency paint remover if you get any on the sunglasses lenses.

Recommended: Make a quick drawing of your sunglasses and practice your design beforehand.

Before getting started, make sure your white sunglasses are completely clean. Remove any stickers on them.

This was my first time using the Sharpie Oil Based Paint Markers and I love them. They make it SO easy to literally draw on your design. You have a lot more control than using traditional paint. I really don't think I'd be able to even try that with the small amount of space you really have with a pair of sunglasses.

Paint your sunglasses in stages to allow for drying time. These paint markers dry fairly quickly, but do plan time for one section to dry before continuing on to the next.

If you mess up, just dab a little nail polish remover on a cotton swab and it will come off in seconds.

If you plan on using pretty gems like I did to make your sunglasses pop, make sure you've also allowed plenty of time to dry before adhering them. Let them dry for a bit if you're using any type of glue. Then, you're gorgeous creations will be good to FLAUNT 😉

I loved the color combo of the Aqua and Gold SO much. Part glam, part summer all meshed for one awesome look. I mainly focused on using polka dots for a seamless color combo.
