SUMMER CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS
You may think that Christmas is over, but this list of fun ideas will make you rethink. Whether you lean towards a more patriotic tree or a full on summer tree, these tips and tricks to have the best holiday season are sure to get your creative juices flowing!
My tree is the Pretty in Pink tree made by Treetopia found on Amazon.
- Mini star piñatas - these adorable mini piñatas found on Etsy work as the perfect ornament and go with the patriotic vibe.
- Popsicle ornaments - I absolutely loved these mini popsicle piñatas that I found on Etsy. They are actually one of my favorite decorations on the tree.
- Decorative floral picks - My favorite place to find these is CraftOutlet.com. This is where I purchased all of the larger decorations on the tree including the large cupcake picks and flip flop floral picks as well as some fun star themed picks. You could also buy cheap flip flops and totally make those work, too.
- Custom sign ornaments - I made mine using these small wooden craft arrows from Amazon painted white and mint vinyl from Michaels using my new Cricut Air 2.
- Star piñata for tree topper - I requested to customize to a pretty pink from this seller on Etsy.
- Striped ribbon - I absolutely love this striped cabana style ribbon found on Amazon.
- Star garland - I found this pretty white lightweight garland that I used for this on Etsy.
HOW TO DECORATE A SUMMER CHRISTMAS TREE
- When it comes to decorating any Christmas tree, I always place the tree topper first. I typically do it up big with a full-sized piñata, often some adjustments need to be made to make it work. Sometimes you need to use cut out a portion on the bottom so that you can make it work. I like to get that all sorted out first.
- Next up, I like to place the garlands if any to make sure they are evenly spaced out.
- Then, I like to add any ribbons that I'm using. To use the pretty striped ribbon on this tree as a garland, I cut out even strips and then attached them to the tree with small snips of pipe cleaners to help to hold them in place.
- If I'm using any signs, this is a great time to add them.
- Next up, I add any of the large floral picks.
- Finally, the last thing that I add in are all of the smaller regular ornaments and fill in all of the empty areas.
- Lastly to make sure everything is perfect, I like to take a photo of the tree, take a break for a bit and then look at the photo to find any areas of imperfection that could use touching up.
- Voila! Once you have your decorations, the rest is fun!
The beautiful thing is that you can change it up anytime.
