FOIL, BROWN PAPER OR PARCHMENT PAPER?
When you want to set up a nacho table or huge taco bar on a table, foil, brown paper and parchment paper make for a great base to spread your ingredients out on.
Which one is best to use?
- Foil is perfect for keeping tabletop nacho ingredients from leaking onto your table. However, it's not necessarily the most attractive option.
- Brown paper is a great option, if it's what you have. It's easy to cover a large space on a budget. Downfall is that you could get some leak through of your wetter ingredients.
- Parchment paper is a fairly good option but could leak through with wetter ingredients as well.
Best option?
- Foil + Parchment paper. First layer foil on the table surface and then cover with parchment paper. Use tape to secure the paper. Aesthetically pleasing AND will prevent leak through.
HOW MANY BAGS OF NACHOS TO USE?
It's really hard to know how many bags of nachos to buy for a nacho table. The best info to know is that each large bag goes pretty far when you are spreading them out onto a single layer.
You can also balance how many guests you're expecting to how many servings are in each bag. Aways rounding way up, of course.
For my table nachos, I did not fill the entire table. I just filled the center, that way we could all sit around the nachos. You can do yours either way. I used 3 bags of tortilla chips for mine.
Filling a standard sized table could look like 4-6 bags of tortilla chips keeping in mind how many toppings bowls and containers you will be including that will be taking up extra space..
