The holiday season is definitely one of my very favorite times of the year. Since moving to Florida, I've started up somewhat a new tradition. I've officially fallen deep in love with the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party over at Magic Kingdom. Have you heard of it? I thought it would be helpful to share how to plan a very merry trip to Orlando to enjoy this special event. I just know you'll be glad you visited. I’ve partnered with ShopShare Network to bring you this fun post. All opinions are my own.
Last weekend, we packed our bags and trekked it over to Orlando to get a headstart on the holiday fun. I'll be sharing everything you need to know soon about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party soon, but here are some basics if you've never heard of it. Prepare to fall in love with the magic.
MICKEY'S VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY
This special event takes place at Magic Kingdom on select nights through 12/22. The event ticket is separate than regular admission. So, what makes this event at Walt Disney World special? I'm going to share the top things that I love to do at the party.
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade - this magical parade happens twice per party night and it's not to be missed. I personally watch it both times because I love it so much.
Holiday Wishes - Each party night you can watch the special holiday fireworks spectacular over at Cinderella's Castle. I love the fun and festive flair.
Mickey Wreaths and Holiday Decor - Just walking around the park during the holidays is so dreamy. My #1 favorite thing to see are the Mickey holiday wreaths. So cute!
Snow on Main Street, U.S.A. - If you live in Florida, you will appreciate this as much as I do. It "snows" on Main Street, U.S.A. during the party and it's beyond magical. It's absolutely stunning, so bring a camera.
Holiday Treats Galore - This year there are 7 holiday treat stations at the party. Guess what? You can go to them as much as you want all night... for free! It's a ton of fun to hit them up to try delish cookies and various other yummy treats and festive drinks.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party officially starts at 7pm, so to get the most out of your visit, you'll want to plan to stay until the park closes. The park generally will close at midnight on these party nights. I always make sure to plan to stay in a hotel that is nearby or at a hotel that offers free transportation to the parks.
STAY AND PLAY
When going over to Orlando for a quick getaway there are a few super important things to consider. Here are my top considerations:
Distance from the parks.
Transportation to the parks.
Cost / value.
Amenities / Extras.
Breakfast on Site.
For our weekend getaway, we stayed over at Holiday Inn® Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark which is just miles from Magic Kingdom.
This little treasure packed a huge punch from amenities to activities. There is a Marketplace with a food court, arcade, laser tag and 4-D experience! I love having a delish breakfast to end a wonderful weekend before heading back home.
You could even grab a refreshing Starbucks beverage in the food court for a quick pick-me-up without ever leaving the resort.
Other fantastic offerings include multiple pools, outdoor entertainment and an actual waterpark for the kids! Talk about having it all.
I hope you have the tools you need to get started on planning your very own Very Merry visit to Orlando this season!
Have you ever been to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?

We went to Universal for our honeymoon and it was fabulous. I would love to go back because they're doing a Hogwarts Christmas this year, which would be the best!
