Death by Chocolate Slow Cooker Dump Cake

Death by Chocolate Slow Cooker Dump Cake

This easy chocolate slow cooker dump cake could not be more delicious. It's rich and loaded with chocolate flavor all made right in the Crock-Pot.

Seriously, it's National Chocolate Day! Now, I would (and do) happily celebrate every single day but it's cool that there is actually a day where chocolate is celebrated publicly. It was hard to resist sharing some chocolate goodness, so I didn't. I didn't resist. Can you even blame me? Let me show you just how simple this is to make in your slow cooker. This recipe was born of deep chocolate cravings and will definitely satisfy yours.

I've been itching to try making a "dump" cake. Not sure if I was just living under a rock or what, but I've only recently heard about this epic idea a year or two ago. So, it was certainly about time to try one for myself and to honor chocolate day with a whole lot of chocolate lovin' seemed to be in order.

Here goes! I dumped all of my ingredients into my slow cooker and hoped for the best!

I think I nailed it! This is definitely going to be my quick fix for those ever-so-intense cravings for some chocolate. I only used 5 ingredients which is also a big plus. I don't think it would be possible to legally cram in any more chocolate flavor.

SLOW COOKER DUMP CAKE

This recipe is only for true chocolate fans, no lightweights please. Totally sweet, ridiculously chocolaty. You definitely won't need to eat much to satisfy that sweet tooth. That much I can promise you. {insert goofy looking "thumbs up" emoticon here}

Death by Chocolate Slow Cooker Dump Cake

Yield: 8
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Additional Time: 3 hours
Total Time: 3 hours 10 minutes

Death by Chocolate Slow Cooker Cake. Rich but easy.

Ingredients

  • Devils Food Cake Mix (16 - 18 oz)
  • 1 Box Chocolate Pudding Mix (3.9 oz)
  • 1 Cup Nutella
  • 1.5 Cups Milk
  • 1 Stick of Butter (Melted)
  • Recommended: Line slow cooker with parchment paper or a slow cooker liner

Instructions

  1. Line your slow cooker with parchment paper or liner.
  2. Dump the dry cake mix evenly along the bottom of your lined slow cooker.
  3. Then, repeat with the chocolate pudding mix.
  4. Pour melted butter evenly over the top of the dry ingredients, repeat process with the milk.
  5. Last, spoon in your Nutella over the top.
  6. Take a spoon and press down any dry mix that isn't wet.
  7. Cook on low for 3-4 hours. Cooking time will vary depending on your size. The larger it is, the less cook time will be needed.
  8. The cake will be slightly "wet" in the center. This is a good thing, you don't want to overcook it. There are no eggs in this recipe, so wet is good! It's best when the center is cooked just slightly beyond it's original liquid state and the sides are starting to firm up. Enjoy!
