Mickey Halloween Candy Board

Mickey Halloween Candy Board

Oh Halloween. One of my very fav times of the year. I'm especially smitten with all things Disney during this holiday. So, I thought it would be fun to give my Mickey Candy Charcuterie Board a Not So Scary Halloween makeover since the event is a no-go for 2020 (insert ugly crying face here)! So, I simply made some swaps to my original candy board and it was easy peasy to do. So, why not? This post may contain affiliate links.

Swapping out a lot of the yellow and red colors gave room to add more black and some orange. So much fun.

I know, you probably think that I'm a bit loopy for posting Halloween so early. Pinterest is telling me to do it. Yup, I'm blaming them. And how could I post Christmas in July ideas if I don't cover the holidays that come before it? We could start Halloween in July? That could be a thing. Anyway, here we are so let's get to it.

Orange and Black Halloween Candy Platter

Outside of an actual visit to a Disney park, there really aren't a ton of ready to buy Mickey Mouse themed candies available for purchase. So, I have picked the best of what is available and added some extras to make this candy board pop for Halloween. I would have loved to do more Not So Scary inspired colors like PURPLE, but there really aren't many Mickey candies that support that color theme, so that is why this is mainly orange, white and black with hints of traditional Mickey colors that are red and yellow.

With the limitations including limited Halloween candy available way before the holiday, I'm still thrilled with how this turned out.

Let me share how you can easily make one, too.

MICKEY MOUSE SPOOKY CANDY CHARCUTERIE

Looking for the very best Mickey Mouse candies and treats? You’ve come to the right place.  It's not easy to find Disney Candy outside of the parks, so it takes some creativity to curate the best selection. These candy picks will be perfect for all of your party needs whether it’s a Mickey-themed candy bar, party favor bags and of course, this awesome candy charcuterie board.

Mickey Mouse Lollipops – these are not easy to find outside of the Disney Parks, but I found a Pinata mix that has PERFECT themed lollipops and more themed candy, here.

Mickey Mouse Gummies – The cute orange Mickey-shaped gummies are also found in that fun Pinata mix that I talked about, here.

Mickey Mouse Jelly Beans –  Look no further than to Jelly Belly. They have single packs of Mickey Mouse Jelly Belly, here that are perfect for a display like this Disney dessert board.

Mickey Mouse Pez Dispensers – PEZ dispensers have been one of my very favorite ways to add a theme that features characters. Such an easy way to add theming. See this one, here.

HALLOWEEN CANDY BOARD IDEAS

There are only so many actual themed candies you can find on the market, typically. So then, it’s time to pick out what I call “filler” items which can just be translated to other candies that match your theme and smaller candies to fill in the empty spaces. Let’s talk about the perfect fit for a Halloween snack tray inspired by Mickey Mouse.

The colors that I selected are black, white, orange with a dash of gray and red.

Black and White Lollipops - I used two different complimentary themed lollipops.

  • Black Swirl Lollipops, here.
  • Black Mini Twist Lollipops, here.

Gumballs - I used both orange and silver for this Halloween candy tray.

  • Color It Candy Shimmer Orange Gumballs, here.
  • Color It Candy Shimmer Silver Gumballs, here.

Black Candy - The fav candies that work for this are Pirate Coin Candie by Haribo, here. I used them in my fav Pirate party board.

Filler Candy - I used some Color It Candy Sixlets to add abundance to my board. I used white, here and orange, here.

Traditional Halloween Candy - You can't go wrong by incorporating any classic or traditional seasonal candies. I used candy corn for this, here.

HOW TO ARRANGE CANDY PLATTERS

For a family-sized board for something like a movie night, these smaller white platters are perfect, here.

For other options, you can use any kind of cutting board or check local party stores for an inexpensive serving tray.

  1. Choose a board/ serving tray with a size and shape that works for your needs and then pick your snacks and candies.
  2. Use variety of small dishes and containers to keep smaller candies separated and add visual interest.
  3. Position all of your main themed candy items down perfectly while trying to alternate the varieties so that they stand out.
  4. Fill it up. Go back in with your smaller candies and add to any empty spaces for the very best result.
