R2D2 Star Wars Cookies
May the Fork… ahem Force be with you! With the recent celebration of Star Wars Day and so many fun upcoming Star Wars related things happening at the Disney parks this year, I wanted to celebrate with some R2D2 cookies. This easy Star Wars dessert is the perfect addition to any out of this world party spread.
Using store-bought ready to eat sugar cookies makes creating something fun is so easy. I love that you don't have to have baking skills or be some kind of master cake decorator to create something like this recipe. I wasn't born with those skills and I sure never seem to find the time to learn all of these fancy techniques. With a little hack here and there, you won't need them. You'll see!
EASY R2D2 STAR WARS COOKIES
To celebrate all things Star Wars, make this easy cookie recipe. Here is what you will need:
- 6 Large Soft Sugar Cookies
- Cookie Icing, White
- Wilton Sparkle Gel, Blue
- Wilton Sparkle Gel, Black
Start off by cutting each of the sugar cookies in half, carefully. Then, cover with white cookie icing and let set a few minutes before moving on.
DECORATE COOKIES WITH WILTON SPARKLE GEL
I really wanted to simplify the design of R2D2 by doing the very bare minimum but to make him still recognizable in this cookie form. I feel like I totally nailed it. On that note, start by adding a stripe of the blue gel to the top of each cookie.
Then continue to make three squares of blue gel spaced out on the bottom portion of each cookie with the middle one being a little larger than the others. Let that dry a little bit before adding the final touch.
Use the black gel to make the cutest little dot in the center of the middle square for that perfect final R2D2 special touch. Let all of the icing firm up before serving. Enjoy. Every. Magical. Bite.
